Chestnut Piculet, Picumnus cinnamomeus, is a woodpecker in the family Picidae that breeds in northern Colombia and north-western Venezuela. It was described by Wagler in 1829. It is a resident bird across its range and is found in a broad mix of habitats, including rainforest, deciduous forest, open country with scattered trees, mangroves, scrub, coffee plantations and thorny woodland, which it seems to prefer. It occurs from sea level up to 100 m in Venezuela and 300 m in Colombia. Four subspecies are recognised, with one confined to the Lake Maracaibo region and others spread through coastal Colombia and adjacent Venezuela.
