Chestnut-rumped Woodcreeper, Xiphorhynchus pardalotus, is a bird of the Furnariidae family in north-east Amazonia, with a breeding range in South America. It occurs in Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela. It is a medium-sized woodcreeper with a long, slim, slightly downcurved bill. The sexes look alike. Two subspecies are recognised, with the nominate form and X. p. caurensis differing in the tone of the upperparts and the strength of the streaking. It is a resident of lowland evergreen forest, especially mature terra firme forest, and also uses forest edges and mature secondary growth.
