Chestnut-tipped Toucanet

Aulacorhynchus derbianus

The Chestnut-tipped Toucanet is a medium-sized bird found in the mountain forests of Central and South America. It has a distinctive appearance, with bright green plumage, a chestnut-colored tail, and a large, colorful bill. These toucanets are often found in small flocks, foraging for fruits, insects, and small vertebrates in the forest canopy. They play an important role in seed dispersal and contribute to the diversity of the forest ecosystem. Despite facing habitat loss and fragmentation, some populations of Chestnut-tipped Toucanets are still relatively stable, but conservation efforts are necessary to ensure their long-term survival.
