Chilean Swallow, Tachycineta leucopyga, is a bird of the Southern Cone in South America, breeding in Chile and Patagonia. It is a swallow in the family Hirundinidae. It is closely tied to the southern part of its range, where it nests from the Atacama Desert in Chile and much of Argentina to the far south of the continent. It is marked by a white rump, with glossy blue-black upperparts and white underparts. The sexes look alike, while young birds are duller and browner.
