Chinchipe Spinetail, Synallaxis chinchipensis, is a passerine in the ovenbird family that lives in the Marañón Valley of northern Peru. It is confined to north-western Peru, where it occurs in the Río Marañón and Río Chinchipe drainages in Cajamarca. It is a resident bird and stays in the same area all year. Its habitat is scrub and the margins of deciduous woodland, mainly at 400 to 600 m. It is one of the smallest birds in Synallaxis, and the sexes look alike. Adults show a buff supercilium, a blackish face, rufous in the tail and uppertail coverts, and a white throat.
