Chinese Bamboo Partridge, Bambusicola thoracicus, is a galliform bird of southern China in the pheasant family. It is a monotypic species and was described by Temminck in 1815. A small partridge, it has mottled black, chestnut and cream on the breast and back, with black spotting on the flanks and upper parts. The face and throat show rich fulvous and rufous tones, while the breast is yellow-ochre. It has broad, squared tail feathers and long, narrow wings, and is capable of sustained flight.
