Chinese Blackbird, Turdus mandarinus, is a thrush in the family Turdidae and breeds in eastern and central China. It was described by Bonaparte in 1850. The species was once treated as the same as the Common Blackbird. The nominate form breeds across much of southern, central and eastern China, and also moves partly to Hong Kong, Laos and Vietnam. Another form, sowerbyi, breeds from eastern Sichuan to Guizhou and is smaller and darker below than mandarinus.
