Thalasseus albididorsalis
The Chinese Crested Tern (Thalasseus albididorsalis) is a striking seabird with a predominantly white plumage, a black cap, and distinctive yellow bill. This species is known for its graceful flight and agile diving abilities, as it forages for fish and other marine prey along coastal waters. Chinese Crested Terns breed in small colonies on remote islands and coastal areas in the East China Sea, and migrate southward to Southeast Asia during the non-breeding season. Unfortunately, this species is critically endangered due to habitat loss, disturbance at breeding sites, and overfishing, making conservation efforts crucial for its survival.
