Chinspot Batis

Batis fratrum

The Chinspot Batis is a small, insectivorous bird found in southern Africa. It has a distinctive black and white plumage with a prominent white spot on its chin, from which it gets its name. This species is known for its agile and acrobatic foraging behavior, often catching insects in mid-air. Chinspot Batis are typically found in woodland and forest habitats, where they flit among the branches and foliage in search of prey. They are known for their melodious and varied song, which they use to communicate with each other and establish territory. The Chinspot Batis is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is stable throughout its range.
