Chiribiquete Emerald

Chiribiquete Emerald, Chlorostilbon olivaresi, is a hummingbird of south-east Colombia, confined to the Serranía de Chiribiquete in the Guaviare and Caquetá departments. It was described by Stiles in 1996 and is the only member of its kind. The species is found in open scrub and savanna on the higher parts of the range, and also in forest at lower levels, while avoiding the surrounding lowlands. It is recorded between 800 and 1,600 m. It is believed to be sedentary, and most of its habitat lies within Chiribiquete National Park.
