Choco Woodpecker, Veniliornis chocoensis, is a woodpecker of the family Picidae that breeds in western Colombia and north-west Ecuador. It was described by Todd in 1919. Its range lies in the Chocó Biogeographic Region, where it occurs in humid forest and very wet forest, both inside the forest and along its edges, generally below 700 m and up to 1,000 m. It is a resident throughout its range. The species has been treated as a separate bird since the late twentieth century and is now regarded as monotypic.
