Chopi Blackbird, Gnorimopsar chopi, is a passerine in the family Icteridae and breeds in eastern, south-eastern and south-central South America. It was first described by Vieillot in 1819. South of the Amazon, it is found from the far south-east of Peru through lowland Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay and into northern and eastern Argentina. It is the only member of Gnorimopsar. The bird has black plumage, measures 25 cm, and can be told from Forbes’s blackbird by its slightly curved bill with a groove on the lower mandible.
