Cinereous Antshrike, Thamnomanes caesius, is a passerine antbird of Amazonia and eastern and south-eastern Brazil. It was described by Temminck in 1820. The species belongs to the family Thamnophilidae and is part of the antbird group. It is found in the understorey and mid-storey of evergreen forest, including terra firme, várzea and igapó. It is mainly associated with forest rather than secondary growth. In Brazil it breeds from July to December, and in French Guiana from August to December. Its range also includes Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.
