Cinereous-capped Warbler

Myiothlypis cinereicollis

The Cinereous-capped Warbler is a small passerine bird found in the highlands of South America. It is characterized by its distinctive gray cap and olive-green upperparts. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of cloud forests and montane scrub. Cinereous-capped Warblers forage for insects and spiders in the foliage, using their sharp bills to glean prey from leaves and branches. They are known to be territorial and often form monogamous pairs during the breeding season. Despite their relatively wide distribution, their population trend is not well-documented, and more research is needed to assess their conservation status.
