Cinereous Tyrant

Cinereous Tyrant, Knipolegus striaticeps, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family that breeds in South America from eastern Bolivia to northern Argentina. It lives in the Gran Chaco, especially along woodland edges and in clearings. The species was first described in 1837 and is the only member of its genus. Adult males are mainly grey, with darker head plumage that gives a hooded look, while females are olive-brown above with a rufous crown. Both sexes have black bill, legs and feet, and the male has a bright scarlet iris.
