Clamorous reed warbler

Acrocephalus stentoreus

The clamorous reed warbler is a medium-sized, migratory songbird found in marshy and reedbed habitats across South Asia and Southeast Asia. It is known for its loud and repetitive song, which it uses to establish territory and attract mates during the breeding season. This warbler has a distinctive olive-brown plumage with a whitish underbelly and a long, slender bill adapted for feeding on insects and small invertebrates. It builds its cup-shaped nest among dense reeds and grasses, providing a secure environment for raising its young. The clamorous reed warbler is currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN, although its populations may be declining due to habitat loss and degradation.
