Caprimulgus clarus
Clarke's nightjar (Caprimulgus clarus) is a nocturnal bird found in the grasslands and open woodlands of eastern Africa. This species is known for its distinctive churring call, which can be heard at dusk and dawn as it hunts for flying insects. Clarke's nightjar has cryptic plumage that provides excellent camouflage against the ground, where it roosts during the day. It is a small to medium-sized nightjar with a short bill and long wings, allowing for agile flight and precise hunting.
