Brotogeris cyanoptera (Pelzeln, 1870)

Cobalt-winged Parakeet, Brotogeris cyanoptera, is a bird of South America, breeding in western Amazonia across the upper Amazon Basin. It belongs to the Psittacidae family and was first described by Pelzeln in 1870. Its range includes Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Venezuela. The species is mainly green, with darker upperparts, and the nominate form shows a yellowish forehead, an orange chin and blue on the crown and nape. Its flight feathers and central tail feathers are blue, while the rest of the tail is green.
