Xiphorhynchus susurrans (Jardine, 1847)

Cocoa Woodcreeper, Xiphorhynchus susurrans, is a resident bird of Middle America and northern South America, from eastern Guatemala through Central America to northern Venezuela, with further presence in Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago. It belongs to the Furnariidae family. It is a medium-sized woodcreeper with a long, fairly heavy bill that curves slightly downwards. The sexes look alike. It was once treated as part of the Buff-throated Woodcreeper, but is now recognised separately. Its breeding range runs from eastern Guatemala to northern Venezuela.
