Cocos Booby

Sula brewsteri Goss, 1888

Cocos Booby, Sula brewsteri, breeds on islands off southern California, western Mexico, Central America and Colombia, with outlying colonies on Clipperton and other Pacific islands. It is a booby in the Sulidae, first described by Goss in 1888. The species was once treated as part of Brown Booby, but is now recognised separately. Its breeding range runs from the Channel Islands and Baja California through the Gulf of California and Revillagigedo Islands to the Pacific coasts of Central America and Colombia, including the Gulf of Fonseca islands and Gorgona Island.
