Sarcops calvus (Linnaeus, 1766)

Coleto, Sarcops calvus, is a passerine found in the Philippines, where it breeds across the Oriental Region apart from the Palawan group. It lives in primary and secondary forest, scrubland, and tropical dry, lowland moist and montane forest, up to 1,000 metres above sea level. The bird is the only member of Sarcops and is known for its bare-headed appearance. It occurs singly, in pairs, or in small groups, and nests in tree cavities.
