Collared Flycatcher

Ficedula albicollis

The Collared Flycatcher is a small migratory bird found in Europe and western Asia. It is known for its distinctive black and white plumage, with males having a striking black collar. These birds inhabit deciduous and mixed forests, where they forage for insects by perching and making short flights to catch their prey. During the breeding season, they build cup-shaped nests in tree hollows or nest boxes. The Collared Flycatcher is classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN, with stable populations across its range.
