Common Chiffchaff

Phylloscopus collybita

The Common Chiffchaff is a small, migratory songbird belonging to the family Phylloscopidae. It is known for its distinctive "chiff-chaff" call, which it uses to establish territory and attract mates. This species has olive-green upperparts, a pale underside, and a noticeable eye ring. It primarily feeds on insects and can be found in a variety of wooded habitats, including forests, parks, and gardens. During the breeding season, it builds cup-shaped nests in dense vegetation. The Common Chiffchaff is a widespread and abundant species, with populations found across Europe, Asia, and North Africa.
