Common Hill Myna

Common Hill Myna, Gracula religiosa, is a starling in the Oriental Region, where it is widespread. It belongs to the family Sturnidae and the order Passeriformes. The species was described by Linnaeus in 1758. It is found in the hills of South and Southeast Asia, and is known as a popular talking bird. Its name religiosa is linked to the custom of training mynas to repeat sacred prayers. It is also one of the birds most often seen in Asian aviculture.
