Common Iora

Aegithina nigrolutea

The Common Iora is a small, insectivorous bird found in South and Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive black and yellow plumage, with a black head and wings, and bright yellow underparts. The species is known for its melodious and varied songs, often heard in the forest canopy. Common Ioras are typically found in open woodlands, scrublands, and gardens, where they forage for insects and small invertebrates. They are known for their acrobatic hunting behavior, often catching insects in mid-air. The species is not currently considered at risk, with stable populations across its range.
