Zosterops comorensis

The Comoro White-eye (Zosterops comorensis) is a small passerine bird found in the Comoros archipelago in the Indian Ocean. It has a distinctive white eye-ring, olive-green upperparts, and a yellow belly. This species is known for its acrobatic foraging behavior, often seen hanging upside down to glean insects from foliage. It inhabits forests, woodlands, and gardens, and is often found in small groups. The Comoro White-eye is primarily insectivorous, feeding on small insects, spiders, and nectar. Despite facing habitat loss and degradation, the population trend of this species is currently stable.
