Connecticut Warbler

Oporornis agilis

The Connecticut Warbler is a small migratory songbird known for its elusive nature and preference for dense, damp boreal forests. With its olive-brown upperparts, yellow underparts, and distinctive gray hood, this warbler is well-camouflaged among the thick undergrowth where it forages for insects and berries. Its secretive behavior and limited breeding range in North America make it a challenging species to study. During migration, it can be found in a variety of wooded habitats, often near water sources. Despite its inconspicuous nature, the Connecticut Warbler's melodious song adds a touch of beauty to the remote northern forests it calls home.
