Apus cooki
Cook's Swift (Apus cooki) is a small, fast-flying bird found in the forests and mountains of western Africa. It is known for its distinctive sickle-shaped wings and swift, agile flight. These birds feed on flying insects and are often seen darting through the air in search of prey. Cook's Swifts build their nests in rock crevices and cliffs, using their saliva to glue the nesting materials together. They are highly adapted for aerial life, spending most of their time on the wing. While not currently classified by the IUCN, their populations may be at risk due to habitat loss and disturbance.
