Copperback Quail-thrush

Cinclosoma clarum Morgan, 1926

Copperback Quail-thrush, Cinclosoma clarum, is a bird of western to south-central Australia in the family Cinclosomatidae. It was described by Morgan in 1926 and is part of the passerine order. Its range is confined to Australia, and it lives in Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation. The species was split from the chestnut quail-thrush in 2015. Three subspecies are recognised: clarum, fordianum and morgani. The form clarum shows little or no difference between the sexes and is generally brown with rust-coloured bands across the back.
