Coppery-tailed Coucal, Centropus cupreicaudus, is a cuckoo of south-central Africa, breeding in south DR Congo and south-west Tanzania through Angola to northern Botswana and Malawi. It belongs to the family Cuculidae and was described by Reichenow in 1896. It is linked with swampland and thick growth beside rivers, and also occurs on flooded plains and around seasonal lakes. Its range extends across a broad part of the region. The bird has a curved bill and a long, broad tail, and its plumage is like that of the Senegal Coucal.
