The Cotton Pygmy-goose, also known as the Cotton Teal, is a small waterfowl species found in parts of South and Southeast Asia, as well as Australia. It is known for its distinctive white face and black cap, with the male having a pinkish hue on its breast. This species prefers to inhabit freshwater wetlands, lakes, and ponds with dense vegetation, where it feeds on aquatic plants, seeds, and small invertebrates. The Cotton Pygmy-goose is a small-sized waterfowl, measuring around 30-38 cm in length. Its conservation status is currently categorized as Least Concern by the IUCN.
