Couch's Kingbird (Tyrannus couchii) is a medium-sized passerine bird found in the southern United States, Mexico, and Central America. It is known for its distinctive yellow belly and gray upperparts, with a black tail and white outer tail feathers. These birds are often found in open woodlands, savannas, and forest edges, where they perch on prominent branches to hunt for insects. They are highly vocal and can be identified by their loud, sharp calls. Couch's Kingbirds are known for their aggressive behavior, often chasing away larger birds from their territory. They are adaptable and can also be found in urban areas. Their conservation status is of Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List.
