Crag Chilia
Ochetorhynchus melanurus (Gray, GR, 1846)

Crag Chilia, Ochetorhynchus melanurus, is a bird of arid scrublands, rocky hillsides and cliffs in central Chile. It is endemic to Chile and belongs to the ovenbird family Furnariidae. The species was once treated in a separate genus, Chilia, and is now placed in Ochetorhynchus. Two subspecies are recognised. It is found in north-central and central parts of the country, with one form ranging farther north and the other farther south. Its nest is a bulky stick ball lined with feathers and usually set in a rock cavity.
