Ptilinopus merrilli (McGregor, 1916)

Cream-breasted Fruit Dove Ptilinopus merrilli is a dove of the Philippines, restricted to Luzon, Catanduanes and the Polillo Islands. It lives in tropical moist forests from lowland areas up to 1,300 masl. The bird is mainly green, with a red patch on the wing and a cream breast that gives it its name. It was once placed in the genus Ptilinopus. It is affected by loss of habitat and by trapping for the pet trade. Under Philippine law RA 9147, it is illegal to hunt, capture or keep this bird.
