The Cream-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus simplex) is a small passerine bird found in Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive cream-colored patch on its vent, which contrasts with its olive-brown upperparts and off-white underparts. This bulbul is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the forest canopy. It primarily feeds on fruits, insects, and nectar. The Cream-vented Bulbul is commonly found in lowland forests, secondary growth, and wooded areas, often near human habitation. It is an adaptable species and can also be found in gardens and parks. While its population trend is not well-documented, it is not currently considered at risk, and its conservation status is labeled as Least Concern by the IUCN.
