Crested Drongo

Dicrurus forficatus (Linnaeus, 1766)

Crested Drongo, Dicrurus forficatus, is a passerine in the drongo family and occurs in Madagascar and Anjouan in the Comoros. It is an almost wholly black bird with a blue-green sheen, a forehead crest made of elongated feathers, and a forked tail. The Madagascar form is found across the island and on some nearby islands, while the Anjouan form is larger and has broader tail feathers. Its habitats include dry forest, moist lowland forest and dry savanna, usually below 1,000 metres.
