Crested Drongo

Dicrurus sharpei

The Crested Drongo (Dicrurus sharpei) is a medium-sized passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of Madagascar. It is known for its glossy black plumage, distinctive crest, and forked tail. These agile birds are skilled fliers and are often seen performing aerial acrobatics to catch insects. They are known for their mimicry abilities, often imitating the calls of other bird species. The Crested Drongo is a vocal and social bird, often found in small groups or mixed-species foraging flocks. Despite being relatively common in its range, habitat loss and deforestation pose threats to its population.
