Peltops blainvillii

The Crested Shriketit (Peltops blainvillii) is a small passerine bird native to the montane forests of New Guinea. It is known for its distinctive crest and striking black and white plumage. This species is often found in small groups, foraging for insects and small fruits in the dense undergrowth. The Crested Shriketit is known for its melodious and varied song, which it uses to communicate with its group members. While not much is known about its breeding behavior, it is believed to build cup-shaped nests in the forest canopy. The population trend of this species is currently unknown.
