Crimson-bellied Woodpecker, Campephilus haematogaster, is a woodpecker of the Andes in South America, breeding from central Colombia through eastern Ecuador to central Peru. It is a resident bird of humid and wet forest, montane forest, várzea, and forest edge on the east slope of the Andes. The species was described by Tschudi in 1844. It has been placed in different genera in the past, but is now treated in Campephilus. In the current treatment it is monotypic.
