Tragopan melanocephalus
The Crimson-faced Tragopan is a species of pheasant found in the eastern Himalayas. The male is known for its striking crimson face and throat, while the female has a more subdued appearance with mottled brown plumage. These birds inhabit dense forests and undergrowth, often found at higher elevations. They are known for their shy and elusive nature, making them challenging to observe in the wild. The diet of the Crimson-faced Tragopan consists of a variety of plant matter, insects, and small invertebrates.
