Crimson-fronted Cardinal, Paroaria baeri, is a tanager from Brazil in South America. It belongs to the family Thraupidae and was described by Hellmayr in 1907. Endemic to Brazil, it occurs in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and in subtropical or tropical moist shrubland. It is not closely allied to the true cardinals. The bird is about 16.5 cm long, usually slim in build and with a rounded crown. Its voice is harsh and forceful, with descending whistles. Breeding is thought to run from October to January.
