Crimson Rosella, Platycercus elegans, is a parrot found in eastern and south-eastern Australia. Its breeding range covers eastern and south-eastern Australia. It is most often seen in mountain forest and in gardens, though it is not limited to those places. The species includes former forms now treated within it, including the yellow rosella and the Adelaide rosella. One red race, P. e. nigrescens, stands out as the most genetically distinct of the three red-coloured races.
