Aulacorhynchus haematopygus (Gould, 1835)

Crimson-rumped Toucanet, Aulacorhynchus haematopygus, is a toucan of the Ramphastidae family found in western Venezuela to eastern Ecuador. It lives in evergreen forest from lowland areas to the montane zone, and also uses forest edges, secondary growth, isolated fruiting trees in pastures, and gardens. It is mainly green, with a gold sheen on the nape and upper back, a red rump, chestnut-tipped central tail feathers, and bare orange-brown skin around the eye. The bill is brownish red and black with a white line at the base, and females have a shorter bill than males.
