Cryptic Treehunter, Cichlocolaptes mazarbarnetti, is a bird of humid forest in north-east Brazil, recorded in Alagoas and Pernambuco. It was described in 2014 and is placed in the ovenbird family, Furnariidae. The species is known from only two specimens, both from hilly forest with vines, bromeliads and mosses, where it was found between the middle layers of the woodland and the canopy edge. It has a heavy, dagger-shaped bill, and the adult female showed a pinkish buff face, black forehead and crown, cinnamon-brown upperparts, and a pale orange-rufous tail.
