Leptosomidae — Cuckoo-roller
Cuckoo-roller Leptosomus discolor breeds in Madagascar and the Comoros, where it lives in forests and woodlands. It is the only member of Leptosomidae and is placed in the order Leptosomiformes. The species is also known as courol. Three subspecies are recognised: the nominate form in Madagascar and Mayotte, intermedius on Anjouan, and gracilis on Grande Comore. The Grande Comore form is sometimes treated as the separate Comoros cuckoo-roller, based on its smaller size, plumage differences and slight variation in voice.
