Grallaria gravesi
The Cundinamarca Antpitta (Grallaria gravesi) is a small, secretive bird species found in the cloud forests of the Eastern Andes in Colombia. It is known for its distinctive whistled call and is often heard more than seen due to its elusive nature. This species forages on the forest floor for insects and small invertebrates, using its strong legs and bill to probe leaf litter and moss. The Cundinamarca Antpitta is highly territorial and defends its small patch of forest against intruders. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this species is considered vulnerable to extinction.
