Dark-winged Miner, Geositta saxicolina, is a bird of the ovenbird family Furnariidae and breeds in central Peru. It is confined to the Andes of that country, where it lives on the Altiplano between Pasco and Huancavelica. Its preferred habitat is gently sloping grassland with rocky ground, at high elevations from 3,700 to 4,900 m. It stays in the same area all year. The sexes look alike, and the species is a medium-sized member of its genus. Juveniles show a warm buff wash overall with dusky markings on the breast.
