Perdix dauurica (Pallas, 1811)

Daurian Partridge, Perdix dauurica, is a pheasant family gamebird that breeds across the Palearctic from Kyrgyzstan and north-east Kazakhstan through western and northern Xinjiang, south-west Siberia and Mongolia, east to Transbaikalia, Amurland in north-east Russia and north-east China. It is a bird of open grassland and steppe, including farmland, and it also uses open country with nearby bushes or open woodland. It is named for the Dauria region of Russia, which lies within its range. Two subspecies are recognised: P. d. dauurica and P. d. suschkini.
