Denham's Bustard

Neotis denhami

Denham's Bustard is a large, ground-dwelling bird found in the savannas and grasslands of sub-Saharan Africa. It is known for its striking plumage and elaborate courtship displays. The male has a black crown, white face, and chestnut and black barred upperparts, while the female is more cryptically colored for camouflage. These birds are primarily terrestrial, foraging for insects, seeds, and small vertebrates on the ground. They are often seen in pairs or small groups and are known for their distinctive booming calls during the breeding season.
