Des Murs's Wiretail, Sylviorthorhynchus desmurii, is a passerine of the ovenbird family that breeds in central and southern Chile and in western Argentina. It was first described by Gay in 1845. The bird is notable for its very long tail, which makes up most of its length and is formed from just six narrow feathers, with the middle pair much longer than the outer pair. It has plain reddish-brown upperparts, paler underparts, a pale line above the eye, and a fine bill.
